Carried across the board by a skater for 3.5 hours from the start time, unless you give it a stop time below. Longer text just takes longer to cross the screen — the preview below shows how wide the banner will be.
Ordered by start time. Anyone can remove any message.
How often the banner claims a sprite slot instead of a regular skater, and how long between slots. The board picks up changes within ~12 seconds.

The colours staff can pick from when they add a shout-out. Tap a swatch to remove it. Admins aren't limited to this list — use the wheel on the Add form for a one-off colour. Removing a colour here doesn't change shout-outs already using it.
When each screen last checked in. They report every few minutes, so anything under 30 minutes is healthy.
How often the screens look for new sold-out changes. Faster reacts quicker; slower is gentler. The fast settings check (~12s) always runs, so this control itself takes effect right away.
Pauses all checking from midnight to 10am, enforced by each screen’s own clock. The rink is closed, so there’s nothing to update.
Which looping video plays behind each screen, or the rink logo as a plain default. Videos have to already be deployed to that Pi — if a screen's chosen one isn't there yet, or fails to load, the board falls back to the logo on its own.
How see-through the menu tiles are, so the background shows through them, and how much of the seasonal decoration shows on them. 75% with icons and glow is the default. If a screen gets hard to read, try solid, or icons without the glow.
Holiday shapes on the menu tiles, on top of whichever background is playing. “None” is the plain board. Changes show on the TV within a few seconds.
Flyovers: with the Halloween background, bats and a see-through ghost now and then cross in front of the menu; with a fall background, a few tumbling leaves; with Winter, a few big snowflakes; with Christmas, snowflakes and now and then Santa's sleigh; with the Valentine's decorations, hearts floating up; with St. Patrick's, shamrocks and gold coins; with Spring or Easter, blossom petals and a butterfly. Switch off to keep the menu clear.
Screen 1's drinks move over to make room for a flyer spot. It shows the events posted on the website, with their flyers, a new one every 10 seconds. With fewer than four events coming up it fills in with lessons, parties, private events, the pro shop and home school skate. New events show within about 10 minutes.
Who is allowed to skate across the boards. Only one is ever on screen at a time, with a gap of up to 30 seconds between them. Switch them all off for a clean board.
